Guarantee systems for organic production

Organic production requires certification or quality assurance systems. These guarantee systems can originate from either third party certification or participatory guarantee systems (PGS).
PGS are locally focused quality assurance systems, which certify producers based on active participation of stakeholders and are built on a foundation of trust, social networks and knowledge exchange (IFOAM).

In this seminar we will cover the following issues: 
- General aspects of organic certification: certification by a third party. 
- Certification of groups in Latin America and Spain. 
- Participatory guarantee systems. What are they and some experiences in Andalusia.
