Open Call: Annual cleanliness of the high mountain channel of Lugros

Open call for volunteers MEMOLA project and the local irrigators community will clean the traditional irrigation channels at high mountain of Lugros (Granada, Spain), with the support of the municipally of Lugros and the Natural and National Park of Sierra Nevada.

Presentation the documentary "the recovery of the traditional irrigation channel in Lugros"

MEMOLA project will present the documentary "the recovery of the historical irrigation channels of Lugros" to the local community.

Opening exhibition "Humanities in action"

Opening of exhibition "Humanities in action. The recovery of Sierra Nevada historical irrigation systems ".

Through a series of photographs, the exposition shows the work developed for the recovery and put into use of traditional irrigation systems in Sierra Nevada, by the irrigators communities and volunteers working within the MEMOLA project.

The recovery techniques were carried out following traditional means and practices, and involving different ONGs, associations and stakeholders. You can visit the exhibition at the Hall of the Faculty of Philosophy (UGR), until December 22, 2016.

UGR participated at a Workshop in Ávila

J. Mª Martín Civantos, MEMOLA coordinator, presented "Landscapes, a common place to get involved. An archaeological perspective from the MEMOLA project" at the workshop "Egaging stakeholders in oppida heritage: challenges and possibilities" organised by "Resituating Europe's first towns: A case study in enhancing knowledge transfer and developing sustainable management of cultural landscapes (REFIT)" 

UGR participates in the PIIISA project

The University of Granada collaborates in the PIIISA project to introduce the research in the Andalusian High School. We will work the Cultural Landscapes and the historical irrigation systems with the Minecraft.

 

 

UNIPA, UGR & ARQUEO are doing fieldwork at the Camarate of Lugros

Today the University of Palermo, the University of Granada and Arqueoandalusi are doing fieldwork at the Camarate of Lugros with the local Irrigators community.

UNIPA & UCO worked with Cañar irrigators community

Pedologists from the University of Palermo and Agronomists from the University of Cordoba worked with Cañar Irrigators Community to analyse the soil and take samples to study agrarian terraces, and support farmers that want to transform their current cultivation into organic

The III Archaeological excavation "Pago del Jarafi" finished
