Cáñar Irrigators Community and the volunteers clean Barjas medieval irrigation channel. Its maintenace is crucial to reactivate the agrarian production.

The 3rd archaeological excavation campaign at Pago del Jarafí (Lanteira) took place from August 29th to October 7th of 2016. 

The University of Granada has organised three guided routes to the archaeological excavation of "Pago del Jarafí" (Lanteira). Around 170 people, from different locations within the province of Granada, had participated in the guided tours to the archaeological site.

Documentary about the first stage of the Archaeological Excavation Campaign "Pago del Jarafí " in Lanteira, Granada (Sierra Nevada, Spain).

Organized, in collaboration with the ecology laboratory of the Andalusian Center for the Environment, at the Colegio Público Rural El Alféizar in Cáñar (Alpujarra-Granada) where the elders told how they used to live in ancient Cáñar through old photographs.

After 35 years of abandonment, UGR recovered 5 traditional irrigation channels with Lugros, Guadix and Graena local irrigators communities and volunteers.

The University of Granada takes part in the PIIISA project to introduce research in the Andalusian High School. We proposed to work with students on the Cultural Landscapes and the historical irrigation systems using Minecraft.

On the first day, José Mª Martín Civantos gave a introductional lesson to High School students about Cultural Landscapes and Historical and Traditional Irrigation Systems. Later on, university students teached how to play with Minecraft and the tools necessary to build a landscapes.
