Comunidades de Regantes de Sierra Nevada

Local Irrigators Communities have a key role for the protection and defense of the traditional irrigation systems (acequias) in the area study of Sierra Nevada. Their knowledge of traditional water management and its relation with the maintenance  of the cultural landscape is crucial for the analysis of current and historical land uses and the assessment of ecosystem services and sustainability in the area.This collaboration will also help with exploring the potential social and economic impacts of the research outputs.
