Dal legno al carbone

Description:

The age-old practice of charcoal has fostered its production as fuel for several human activities for both domestic and industrial purposes. By putting ouselves in a coalman's shoes, we can not only understand the actions and difficulties of this practice, but also, as archeologists, we have the chance to look to the remains that such ancestral activity has left in our environment from a different point of view. Here you can find some images depicting the making of an experimental charcoal kiln on the Euganean Hills (Padua, Italy) from 25th to 29th October 2017.
